Too Old for the Internet

Who am I?
My name is Em and I am 36.5 years old.

What is my story?
My life has changed drastically within this past year - Following the break up of my marriage, I came out as a lesbian and started dating a wonderful woman.
I am trying to figure out how to live my life in a way that is true to who I actually am and not just true to who I think society wants me to be, and to have fun doing it.

What do I like?
I like to geek out over all things internet, many things TV, most things books, and some things movies, art, fashion, celebrities, and travel. And, of course, I also like boobs.

guys PLEASE do not buy the xbox one
do not buy any video game console that is so anti consumer and one that shuts out small video game retailers

I actually went on the official site and I read the rules
this is actually accurate, very accurate

Boo! that’s stupid. I won’t be buying one.

I love these tiny houses. I get the email newsletter and always take time to check out the new submissions. I haven’t seen this one before, though. It’s SUPER cute. I love the layout.

I see the argument of feminism going rampant, and here is my answer. Because its not just women being treated like shit. We all are treating each other like shit as well as our own selves. Maybe we all need to look in the mirror and ask ourselves: is this who we really want to be?

DEAR. FUCKING. LORD.for the last time.humanism is not even remotely close to feminism. it is about secular freedom and ideology to create a better world.feminism is not about oppressing men to make things better for women. feminism is observing the ways in which the majorities (read that: ies — not just men, like all you misogynistic fuckwads like to pretend feminism is about) oppress the minorities. feminism is far more deep than saying “WOMYN R PPL 2. MEN ARE STUPID POO POO HEADS”i could say that i am a marxist because i believe that dogs should have superior reign over humans but that doesn’t make my use of the terminology correct, does it?please stop with the whole “use humanism instead of feminism” bullshit. changing the word (incorrectly, may i add) does not detract from the stigma attached to it (ie: when atheists thought using secularists would make others hate them less) nor does it make any more “sense.” study feminism and its pillars and then make a decision.feminism is exactly about rights for everyone. i honestly do not understand what some people think feminism is.

Wow. I’m sure you’ve all seen this girl’s fantastic tardis dress floating around here the last week or so. She hand painted the inside and everything, and she just looks plain great. But of course, I see it posted on facebook, and the slew of comments begin.

I don’t think it’s a mystery as to why I, as a bigger girl, spend the week before a convention crying because I’m so nervous about what people are going to say about me just because I want to dress up and have fun like everyone else. And there is something really, really fucking wrong with that.

This girl is as beautiful as she is clever! If we on Tumblr are only good for one thing, it’s turning situations like this around! Let’s signal boost this and get it back to her so she knows how much we love it! ALLONZ-Y

Some need a reality check preferably with a baseball bat THIS FUCKING AWESOME and she is gorgeous.

“Would be better if she wasn’t fat”. Jesus, it pisses me off that people thing that others dress/look a certain way to please anyone other than themselves. Oh I’m sorry, my body and my attire didn’t aesthetically please you this morning? Well too fucking bad you ignorant piece of shit.

    “Cool, but not particularly attractive.”

SHE DOESN’T EXIST TO PLEASE YOU. SHE’S NOT HERE TO DECORATE YOUR WORLD HOW YOU WANT IT. SHE’S HERE TO BE HERSELF AND TO LOOK THE WAY SHE WANTS AND LOVE HERSELF FOR IT, BECAUSE SHE SHOULD. SORRY, I DIDN’T REALISE EVERYONE FOUND ONLY SLIM PEOPLE ATTRACTIVE.

This is awesome. Love it! She is obviously amazingly talented. I think she looks great, too. I love the little hat. I hope she didn’t let the stupid comments get to her and I hope she got enough positive feedback to cancel them out. Morons.

This is pretty cool and eye-opening. I wish someone would do this sort of thing with male 6-pack ab models.

They even Photoshopped the woman behind Selena’s arm, because apparently not only do celebrities have to be thin, but they must also only associate with other thin people…

    Enrico Francis has been caught

This pisses me off so incredibly much!

This is ridiculous. And disgusting. beautiful people being photoshopped to fit impossible standards AND most of the non-caucasian women are being white washed so they look more “appealing”

What the fuck, editing out ‘Elton John AIDS Foundation’?!

    This is goddamn disgusting.

Oh, Jesus, I missed that too! It’s a mobius strip of awful!

    bullshit.

wow this is so shocking but wow

infuriating and needless. did you notice that they photoshopped the girl  in the background of the Selena Gomez picture, but didn’t touch the man? Also why make everyone so tiny? Are women not allowed to have ribs now?

Chris Pine for OUT Magazine June/July 2013

x On why Kirk needs Spock: The relationship [with Spock] is the core of what Kirk goes through. It’s substantial, and the arc and the trajectory of his journey is huge, almost Greek. But you can’t talk about Kirk without talking about Spock, and it’s through his relationship with Spock that he learns the greatest lessons, about loving someone to the point of being able to do away with all rules and regulations and the constraints in order to save, protect and do justice to your friend.

x On his first time playing gay: My first intimate scene [onscreen] was with Tom Everett Scott,” Pine says, referring to his role in the TV movie-of-the-week, Surrender, Dorothy, with Diane Keaton, in which he plays gay. “He’s an incredible spooner — very warm, very sensitive.”

x How his four-year English degree from Berkley contributed to a kind of critical speed-read technique: “I think I’ve read 20 scripts in the last two and a half weeks. Those tools are indispensable, all those little micro-muscles in your brain that are just trained to see certain things. All you do all day is read, break down story, structure, character, and technique.”

x On costar Zachary Quinto’s sexuality and coming out: It was something that I knew about Zach from the moment I met him. It was just who Zach was and that’s that. I’m sensitive, and I don’t ever want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Knowing that for Zach it was more about a career thing and that he was not comfortable at the time coming out — it was fine. It was something that we kind of tiptoed around and I just took it as a given, because that’s what he wanted.” But when Quinto came out in 2011 in an interview with New York magazine, Pine was thrilled: “So happy for him, oh man. I thought it was rad. It was really, really cool. He did it on his own time, on his own schedule. And Jonathan [Groff], who he’s dating, is such a lovely man. He’s a good guy and a great actor, and they make a fantastic couple. I couldn’t have been happier for Zach.”

x He’d like to see a gay action star: “All it really takes is the fact that the man isn’t going home to his wife, but has a boyfriend at home,” he says. “I think it would be a wonderful thing to see.”

I actually picked up this copy of OUT Magazine because Chris Pine gave such an excellent interview.
